As a Design Lead, you'll be genuinely invested in helping fellow designers hit their stride. Since product design is our core focus, a thorough grasp of what it takes to ship digital products is the first essential. Beyond that, you've earned a reputation as someone others respect and look to for guidance—and you treat that responsibility seriously. You'll still work in the details, but you'll also be key to each project's success through clear direction, leadership, and support. You believe great ideas can originate anywhere, and you make sure every voice on your team is heard.

What you'll do

• Guide the design process across the full project lifecycle
• Lead client presentations and discussions about your team's work
• Thoughtfully challenge the status quo and encourage both clients and colleagues to stretch beyond their comfort zones
• Build strong client relationships and meaningfully influence client stakeholders
• Partner with Product Managers and Client Partners to define project scope and requirements
• Help cultivate an inspiring, inclusive team environment
• Coach and mentor Product Designers toward their career goals—offering tailored feedback and guidance while keeping an eye on their overall growth and wellbeing
• Collaborate closely with engineers and product team members to spark innovation and ensure designs are both feasible and faithfully implemented
• Encourage a culture that balances autonomy with proven working practices

Requirements

• 5+ years of product design experience at a digital product agency or consultancy, ideally in a Lead capacity
• Proven command of UI/UX principles, best practices, and standard design tools (namely, Figma)
• Enough interaction design ability to guide the work (think After Effects, Principle, Framer, Origami)
• A portfolio showcasing your strengths in both UX and visual design
• A natural tendency to take initiative and help others reach a deeper understanding and appreciation of the work
• Skilled at translating stakeholder goals, user research, and complex user flows into clean, intuitive UIs
• Eager to stay current with desktop and mobile best practices and emerging trends across web, mobile, and iOS design
• A strong communicator who can deliver persuasive design rationale in both client-facing and internal settings
• At ease with ambiguity and briefs that raise more questions than they answer
