About the team

The company’s AI-focused team is a small, startup-style team working inside a larger organization. Their mission is to evolve the core platform into an AI-first experience that genuinely reshapes how healthcare practitioners run their clinics.

The team is currently a compact group of designers and engineers working across multiple streams, including AI infrastructure and a mobile-first product (“Companion”) designed to rethink practice management from the ground up. This is not an incremental “AI feature layer” on top of existing software — it’s a rebuild of the experience using AI as a foundational layer, deeply tuned to real clinical workflows in allied health.

The role

We’re looking for a Staff Mobile Developer who can take ownership of the mobile architecture and help bring this next-generation product to life.

This is a senior technical leadership role for someone who thrives in greenfield environments, enjoys solving complex mobile challenges, and is excited by the intersection of mobile systems, AI, and real-world constraints like offline usage and high-reliability performance.

You’ll also play a key role in mentoring engineers and shaping technical direction as the product evolves from early adoption to scale.

What you’ll own and impact

  • Define and lead the mobile architecture and technical direction, building a foundation that can scale from early customers to thousands of clinics globally.
  • Improve performance across AI-driven and audio/streaming pipelines, focusing on reducing latency and making AI interactions feel instant and reliable in real clinical environments.
  • Design and implement offline-first capabilities and data synchronization systems, ensuring the app works seamlessly even in low-connectivity settings while keeping sensitive data secure.
  • Break down complex challenges (including healthcare compliance, data handling, and AI integration patterns) into clear, iterative engineering plans.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams to deliver pragmatic solutions while maintaining long-term technical integrity.

What we’re looking for

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, with a deep focus on mobile development
  • Strong background in shipping React Native applications at scale
  • Solid native mobile expertise and the ability to go beyond framework constraints when needed
  • Proven ownership of mobile performance as a system-level concern (SLOs, observability, regression prevention, etc.)
  • Experience mentoring senior engineers and helping them grow into staff-level scope and impact
  • Strong familiarity with the React Native ecosystem and tooling
  • Exposure to LLM APIs, on-device ML, or feature flag systems is a plus

About the company

The company builds practice management software used by allied health professionals including physiotherapists, counsellors, chiropractors, and massage therapists.

Growth has been largely organic, driven by word of mouth rather than traditional sales. The platform now supports 65,000+ clinics across 60 countries, with over 1,000 new clinics joining monthly.

The business is profitable, remote-first, and has reached a valuation of approximately $1.8B, with continued expansion supported by strong investor backing.

The company is currently entering a major new phase where AI is reshaping both internal workflows and customer-facing products.

Working style & pace

This AI-focused team operates with a higher-than-usual sense of urgency. The environment is fast-moving, ambiguous, and highly iterative, with a strong focus on building and learning quickly.

It’s not a permanent state of affairs, but it reflects the current stage of the product lifecycle. It suits people who are energized by early-stage momentum and fast feedback loops.

Setup

  • Remote-first and async-friendly
  • High autonomy with a dedicated roadmap and engineering ownership
  • Close alignment with broader company infrastructure and teams where needed
  • Flexible seniority level depending on impact and readiness from day one

Compensation & benefits

  • Base salary: $200,000 – $290,000 CAD
  • Equity via stock options plan (JSOP-style program)
  • History of strong equity growth and multiple exercise opportunities over time
  • Full healthcare coverage
  • Flexible time off

Why this role

This is a chance to work on genuinely hard mobile engineering problems at scale — from performance and streaming AI systems to offline-first architecture — with direct visibility into customer impact and product direction.
