Role

• We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead and grow our engineering team for our AI-powered tax payment platform used by businesses to manage complex, high-stakes financial workflows. You'll own engineering execution, team development, and technical direction while working closely with Product, Customer Success, and Compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of full-stack and backend engineers
• Own engineering planning, sprint execution, and delivery accountability
• Define and enforce engineering standards for code quality, testing, security, and documentation
• Collaborate with Product and Design to break down roadmap items into achievable sprints
• Partner with Compliance and Security to ensure all engineering work meets regulatory requirements
• Drive architectural decisions and ensure infrastructure supports long-term business goals
• Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to senior and mid-level engineers
• Foster a culture of high standards, ownership, and continuous improvement
• Manage hiring, onboarding, and performance for the engineering team

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience
• 3+ years of engineering management or tech lead experience leading teams of 5+
• Strong background in C#/.NET and modern web technologies (React, TypeScript)
• Experience in regulated industries (fintech, payments, or compliance-driven products is a plus)
• Proven ability to balance technical depth with people management
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and sprint planning
• Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
• Track record of scaling engineering teams in early-stage or high-growth environments

Nice to have

• Experience with AI/ML integration in production systems
• Familiarity with Banking-as-a-Service or accounting software integrations
• Exposure to cloud infrastructure on Azure or AWS
