What you’ll do

• Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team, building a culture of ownership, speed, and technical excellence
• Coach and mentor engineers to help them do the best work of their careers
• Stay hands-on in the codebase (Python/Django, TypeScript/React)
• Architect and scale reliable systems for mission-critical event experiences
• Design fast, secure, scalable APIs, services, and integrations
• Align engineering execution with product and business priorities
• Lead architecture decisions, technical planning, and system design
• Improve CI/CD, AWS deployments, and release velocity
• Partner closely with Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Leadership
• Improve engineering processes, testing, and documentation
• Identify opportunities for AI and automation to improve productivity
• Represent engineering internally and with external partners

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years in software engineering, including 2+ years in leadership or mentoring roles
• Strong people leadership: hiring, coaching, and team development
• Hands-on engineering ability alongside management responsibilities
• Strong backend experience (Python/Django or similar)
• Strong frontend experience (React / modern JS frameworks)
• Strong system design and scalability experience
• Experience with AWS, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and monitoring
• Strong API/integration and distributed systems experience
• Solid database knowledge (SQL, schema design, performance tuning)
• High standards for code quality, testing, and maintainability
• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical teams
• Product-minded with strong business and customer understanding
• Comfortable in fast-paced, high-ownership environments
• Interest in AI, automation, and modern software practices
