About us

  • We are looking for an experienced AI Engineer to support the development of applied AI solutions for enterprise clients in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry.

Role

  • 3–4 month contract (part-time to full-time) focused on building multi-stage AI pipelines and application logic that transform large volumes of unstructured and semi-structured data into usable, structured outputs. This is not a pure prompt-engineering or experimentation role — we need someone who has built robust, end-to-end applied AI workflows at the application layer.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and maintain Python pipelines to ingest, process, and transform data from enterprise systems and document sources
  • Develop multi-stage workflows for document parsing, metadata extraction, OCR integration, chunking, embedding, and classification
  • Write scripts and logic to populate structured databases and downstream data layers
  • Integrate LLM APIs and other AI/model APIs into production-oriented workflows
  • Develop application logic to support proof-of-concept and workflow use cases
  • Work with unstructured/semi-structured data (PDFs, spreadsheets, text files, enterprise records)
  • Design pipelines with validation, error handling, traceability, and structured outputs
  • Collaborate to translate business workflows into practical technical implementations
  • Contribute across multiple concurrent proof-of-concepts as client projects evolve

Qualifications

  • Strong professional experience in Python development
  • Hands-on experience building applied AI, ML, or LLM-powered workflows beyond simple prototypes
  • Experience building multi-step pipelines involving ingestion, extraction, preprocessing, chunking, embeddings, and downstream application logic
  • Experience working with unstructured and semi-structured data, especially document-heavy workflows
  • Experience integrating external AI/model APIs, including LLM APIs and OCR/document-processing tools
  • Experience writing scripts and transformation logic to populate structured databases or downstream systems
  • Ability to build reliable, traceable solutions suitable for real business workflows
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-moving environment with evolving requirements
  • French language skills

Nice to have

  • Experience with retrieval pipelines, RAG systems, semantic search, or knowledge-layer style applications
  • Familiarity with SQL, document, and vector databases from an application development perspective
  • Experience integrating or normalizing data across multiple enterprise systems and document repositories
  • Familiarity with AEC, real estate, or other document- and workflow-intensive industries
  • Based in Quebec, Canada

Contract details

  • Initial contract term of 3–4 months
  • Part-time to full-time depending on project timing and availability
  • Potential for extension depending on project pipeline and fit
