Hybrid Senior QA Engineer (API & Automation Focus) – 100% remote - Fintech

We’re partnering with a fast-growing fintech company in the insurance/real estate space, building modern platforms that help businesses manage risk and scale their operations.

They’re looking for a Hybrid Senior QA Engineer with strong experience in API testing and automation. This role combines manual and automation testing, requiring someone who is hands-on across the full QA spectrum and comfortable owning quality end-to-end.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software in an agile environment
  • Design and execute manual and automated test strategies (API, UI, and end-to-end)
  • Build, maintain, and improve automation frameworks and test suites
  • Perform API testing to validate business logic, integrations, and data flows
  • Review requirements and identify potential quality risks early
  • Investigate, document, and track defects, partnering with engineers to validate fixes
  • Monitor and analyze CI/CD test pipelines, identifying and resolving failures
  • Perform smoke and regression testing, including post-release validations in production
  • Proactively identify gaps in quality processes and suggest improvements
  • Participate in on-call rotations to support production quality and incident response

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in QA / Software Testing
  • Strong experience in both manual and automation testing (hybrid profile)
  • Hands-on experience with API testing (REST, service validation, error handling, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of API frameworks and testing best practices
  • Experience building or maintaining automation frameworks (preferably Playwright or similar)
  • Ability to write and execute SQL queries for data validation
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and debugging test failures
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with performance, security, or accessibility testing
  • Ability to review code and provide feedback (white-box testing mindset)
  • Experience mentoring or guiding junior QA engineers
  • Strong focus on test reliability and test data management

Why This Role

  • Work on high-impact fintech products at scale
  • Balanced role between manual testing and automation ownership
  • Opportunity to influence QA strategy and best practices
  • Collaborative, product-driven engineering culture
