About the Role

The company is hiring a Senior Engineering Manager to lead teams responsible for core platform, backend systems, and infrastructure.

This is a hands-on leadership role that combines technical direction, architecture, and team development. You will play a key role in scaling both the platform and the engineering organization, leading multiple teams working across data infrastructure, backend services, integrations, and developer experience.

You’ll be expected to contribute technically while also setting direction, improving execution, and supporting the growth of engineers across the team.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead and manage multiple engineering teams, including senior engineers and team leads
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance
• Support career development, performance management, and team health

Execution & Delivery

• Partner with cross-functional teams to define and deliver on product and technical roadmaps
• Stay hands-on with coding (up to ~20% of the time)
• Continuously improve engineering processes and delivery practices

Architecture & Technical Excellence

• Guide architectural decisions with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability
• Maintain high standards for code quality, testing, and documentation
• Contribute to system design and review critical code when needed

What They’re Looking For

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, strong in Java
• 4+ years in engineering leadership roles
• Proven experience building and scaling backend systems
• Hands-on experience with AWS and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform)
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, monitoring, and system reliability
• Ability to balance leadership with hands-on technical work
• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
• High ownership mindset and ability to lead by example
