Our hiring partner is looking for a Frontend Engineer / UI/UX Designer to design and implement user interfaces for their platform.

What you’ll do:

  • Design user interfaces and workflows in Figma, creating mockups and interactive prototypes
  • Implement your designs in Vue.js (primary) and Next.js
  • Collaborate with backend engineers to design and consume RESTful/GraphQL APIs
  • Build robust state management and data fetching layers for complex UI requirements
  • Own the full design-to-code pipeline for new features
  • Create intuitive dashboards and visualizations using real-time API data
  • Handle API error states, loading patterns, and data synchronization elegantly
  • Conduct user research, create user flows, and iterate based on feedback
  • Balance aesthetic appeal with technical constraints and performance

You’ll thrive here if you

  • Have 4+ years of combined experience in frontend development and UI/UX design
  • Are strong in Vue.js (Vue 3 preferred), React/Next.js, TypeScript, and modern CSS
  • Have experience with API integration, async data handling, and state management (Pinia/Vuex, Redux)
  • Are proficient with REST APIs, GraphQL, and WebSocket connections
  • Understand API design principles and can provide feedback to backend teams
  • Are proficient in Figma (or similar) for production-ready designs
  • Have a portfolio showcasing both design work and implemented projects
  • Understand design principles: typography, color theory, spacing, visual hierarchy
  • Are experienced in taking features from concept through implementation
  • Have a working understanding of Mandarin
  • Are comfortable with occasional late-night meetings to collaborate with the team in Taiwan

Bonus qualifications

  • Experience with API testing tools (Postman, Insomnia)
  • Knowledge of backend technologies to improve API collaboration
  • Experience with real-time data visualization
  • Familiarity with OpenAPI/Swagger documentation
  • Formal design education or HCI background
  • Experience creating and maintaining design systems
  • Background in developer tools or technical product design

Why this role is unique

You’ll own the entire experience from design to API integration. You’ll shape both how the interface looks and how it communicates with their GPU infrastructure, ensuring seamless user experiences across the full stack.

Details

  • They offer competitive salary and equity based on experience and skillset
  • Hybrid role: 3 days in office, 2 days WFH; must be located in Palo Alto
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
