About the Company

The company is modernizing the debt collection industry by replacing fragmented legacy tools with a single, API-first platform. Founded in 2022 and backed by $5.4M in funding, it is live with production customers and scaling its platform across core workflows and fintech integrations. The team is building foundational infrastructure to enable software-native operations in an industry that has historically relied on outdated systems and manual processes.

Job Overview

As a Staff Platform Engineer, you’ll own and enhance core systems and infrastructure that power API-driven fintech platforms. Your work will ensure reliable, scalable product releases and directly impact real customer workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs for critical workflows and integrations
  • Manage and improve cloud infrastructure and deployment workflows for reliability and scale
  • Build and maintain third-party integrations via APIs and SFTP
  • Optimize database performance and reliability (PostgreSQL monitoring, indexing, migrations)
  • Maintain CI/CD pipelines, dev environments, and internal tooling
  • Contribute to alerting, monitoring, and on-call processes to ensure production stability
  • Partner with leadership on platform architecture and technical direction

Qualifications

  • 5+ years building production backend systems
  • 2+ years in platform, infrastructure, or DevOps/SRE-focused roles
  • Strong experience with Python and Django (or equivalent frameworks)
  • Hands-on with AWS, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform preferred)
  • Strong relational database skills (PostgreSQL preferred)
  • Experience integrating third-party APIs or external systems

Ideal Candidate

You enjoy infrastructure-heavy problems, care deeply about reliability and system design, and take ownership of core platform components. You’re comfortable with ambiguity, communicate clearly, and build maintainable systems that support real customer workflows.

Culture & Team

The company is a small, remote-first team of experienced product and engineering leaders. Engineers own problems end-to-end and ship directly to real customers. You’ll work closely with founders and core technical leadership, with meaningful equity and influence over product and technical direction.

Day-to-Day

You’ll spend most of your time building backend systems, improving cloud infrastructure, supporting integrations, and ensuring production reliability. You’ll collaborate closely with leadership, own projects end-to-end, and directly support systems used by real customers.

Growth

This is a high-impact role with meaningful ownership over foundational platform systems. As the company scales, there’s an opportunity for technical leadership, ownership of major platform areas, and influence over engineering standards and long-term architecture. You’ll gain experience building both infrastructure and customer-facing systems in a production fintech environment.
