Our hiring partner is a mission-driven company focused on expanding financial mobility for American workers, built on the values of trust, curiosity, resilience, and value. Their first product is a platform for broad-based equity plans—equity designed for the 99%, not just executives and top shareholders.

They’re hiring an engineering leader to take ownership of their backend systems and infrastructure and help scale the company. This role is ideal for someone who’s a seasoned, resourceful builder of early-stage products and teams. You'll lead implementation, make key architectural decisions, and drive engineering velocity. You’ll work closely with sales and product teams to scope, prioritize, and adapt as the business evolves.

Their codebase is maturing, and so is the team. Your role is to elevate both.

What They’re Looking For

  • Strong backend development experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and comfort with the AWS ecosystem
  • Proven ability to design scalable systems, maintain clean data architecture, and manage cloud environments
  • Pragmatic and process-savvy, with a talent for breaking down complexity and setting realistic expectations
  • Skilled in supporting and leading engineers across time zones and disciplines
  • A calm, inclusive leadership style that blends strategy with execution

Tech Stack

  • Full stack JavaScript with Prisma and GraphQL
  • AWS infrastructure

Location

  • Fully remote, with collaboration hours aligned to U.S. time zones
  • Open to exceptional global candidates

Team & Stage

  • Small but strong engineering team of 4, working closely with product and founders
  • Recently funded, seed-stage, generating revenue, and gaining traction quickly

How They Use AI

  • AI is embraced as a development accelerant. The team uses tools like Codex, Windsurf, and Loveable for prototyping and automation
  • You’re expected to use AI effectively—for coding support, debugging, design decisions, and optimizing developer workflows. Knowing what to delegate and what not to is part of the craft

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary with a meaningful equity stake

Work Culture

  • High ownership, fast execution, minimal red tape
  • Strong feedback culture, transparent decision-making, and clear communication
  • Remote-first and flexible, with intentional team bonding and high-quality async workflows

Includes 1 screening question.
